Project Manager Appointed By Create the Vision

Angella (Angie) Tapogna — a veteran of nine years as a communications specialist with the King County Council in Seattle, Washington — has been appointed Project Manager for Create the Vision.

Create the Vision is the joint City of Centerville-Washington Township planning process that will guide the development of the community for the next 20 years. The plan was developed by a citizens committee and is now, under the direction of a citizen task force, in the implementation phase.

As a communications specialist with the King County Council, Ms. Tapogna managed an annual budget of $400,000 that included three government contracts for 13 elected officials. She was in charge of all communications expenditures which included the creation, design, production and distribution of newsletters, brochures, maps, annual reports, and more.

In addition, she created, updated and maintained websites and managed all council ceremonies, town meetings and special events. She has experience with land use planning, site selection and fiscal allocation in her former role as an Arts Commissioner with the City of Edmonds, Washington.

Ms. Tapogna was chosen from a field of 29 applicants.

“We are fortunate to have found a project manager with the experience Angie brings to the job,” Brooks Compton, Centerville City Councilman and co-chair of the Task Force, said.

Tom Zobrist, Washington Township Clerk-Treasurer and co-chair of the Task Force, said Ms. Tapogna “is off to a fast start. She has met with city and township officials, members of the Implementation Task Force and is already well backgrounded on the goals, strategies and objectives of the plan.”

“I am so excited to be appointed the project manager for Washington Township and the City of Centerville’s Create the Vision. This program is so progressive, and will ensure that this area remains one of the most desirable places to live or work within the State of Ohio,” Ms. Tapogna said.

Angie was raised in Anchorage, Alaska, where she graduated from the University of Alaska with bachelor’s degree in communications. She and her family recently moved to Ohio, where her husband was raised, to be closer to members of their extended family.

Angie and her husband, a professional musician, have two daughters, ages 4 and 6. The family lives in Lebanon.

She will work with officials of both the City of Centerville and Washington Township as well as members of the Task Force and has an office in Centerville’s Planning Department. Her office telephone number is 937/428-4719. Her e-mail address is atapogna@createthevision.org.
